Day 2339: Musical Memorabilia Mecca
Q: What is the only food served in Hard Rock Cafe in Sweden?
A: The Rock Burger
...and they have shuffleboard game room.
Regardless of the food and games what I found here was memorabilia guitar of Joe Walsh.
Joe Walsh is the guitarist who replaced the founding member Bernie Leadon in the legendary band Eagles. ‘Hotel California’ the iconic album, the band’s fifth album was the first in which Walsh featured.
I’m still looking for the Hard Rock Cafe which has Eric Clapton’s guitar. Does anyone know?

Day 2327: 2019, Bollywood, Valentine’s Day and Gully Boy
We have been binging on movies since Christmas break. The movie marathon hasn’t come to an end even after 6 weeks into the new year. During this run, I realised 2018 must have been one of the best year for Bollywood movies for out-of-the-box scripts like Andhadhund, biopic like Sanju, controversial like Padmawat, and other iconic movies like Manmarziyaan, Stree, Raazi, Padman, Badhai Ho (just to name few). 2019 has a lot to live up to.
Manikarnika and Kangana Ranaut (that we watched two days ago) lived up-to the expectation and I was looking forward to Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy albeit, little sceptical. Mainly because Ranbir Singh and his acting in Simmba hadn’t met the expectation that he set for himself with films like Padmawat and Bajirao Mastaani. Nikki, however was very optimistic and excited. So, wife decided and I followed.
We went to watch ‘Gully Boy’ first-day-first-show on Valentine’s day. I spent two and half hours listening to my wife gushing over the handsome actor on the screen. She would hit me when the protagonist does something she doesn’t agree with but she wouldn’t stop gushing and admiring every time this new actor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, came on screen.
But to her credit it was hard to believe that Siddhant Chaturvedi was debutant in the film which had so much going on with acclaimed actors like Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin, Ranbir Singh and Bijay Raj. It felt Siddhant even overshadowed Ranbir at times. All the actors were terrific at their roles and presentations.
Interestingly, I wanted to take a picture of the screen in the cinema hall for the first time and I took a picture of Siddhant Chaturvedi being casted on screen. Coincidence much?
Like many times, this Zoya Akhter’s directorial venture also has set up a new benchmark. The film is put together with so much care and passion, scene by scene and dialogue by dialogue to perfection.
The film is set up in the slums of Mumbai with a man who always had hope and dreams to make it big and believed ‘Apna Time Aayega’. The film is about individual’s passion against collective family and societal pressure, where art acts as an escape and check for reality, -presented beautifully and mesmerisingly.
!
This movie will stay in my mind for sometime before I go and watch another one. Badlaa, Kalank, Mental hai kya, Bramhastra. Next?
