Day 4436: The TaTa’z wish you a Happy New Year with Zombie

Like last few years, this year too our family band—the TaTa’z—has returned with another musical performance to wish you a very Happy New Year. Keeping the tradition intact, we performed another classic ‘Zombie’ by The Cranberries.

Unlike last year’s speedy take on Hotel California, this time we attempted to hit the right tempo. Results may vary.

In this dramatic Singh Family, Bunu-Bunu (Ojaswi) decided that it was time for her to become the new, uncontested queen of the Singh family and gracefully replaced Nikki Shakya as our lead vocalist. I can confirm that power transitions were smooth. No coups reported. (Could call it a Gen-Alpha takeover). Mummy-Tata did want to sing the back vocals which was met by the Ojaswi’s signature eye roll.

Meanwhile, Onu Bonu felt the need to showcase yet another musical talent—this time on drums. This required me to travel half the England to BORROW the drums. (We can’t be buying every instrument Oneek falls in love with, you know?)

While the preparation was slightly exhausting, the performance itself took far less time than last year. Clearly, the kids are getting better—and the parents are slowly being pushed into the background. Well, I’m definitely the one trick pony of the family.

More than proving ourselves to be musical maestros (which we clearly are), our little New Year ritual is about creating memories and bringing a lots of smile, a lots of love, and plenty of positive energy into our lives - and hopefully into yours too—through our (im)perfect but committed musical efforts.

We hope your 2025 was kind to you, and we wish that 2026 brings you more peace, more joy, and even more positivity.
